The useful freeware SignSIS which is very popular for the PC has been released for S60 devices. You can directly> sign applications on your phone.

This is how it works:
1. Download the whole packet including everything you need, password: symbianwebblog
2. Install Mobile Signer on your mobile phone.
3. There is a certificate and key file from OPDA (included in the packet) which will not expire until 20 years. For mobile signing no Symbian Signed account is necessary. But some people have got problems with this certificat. In case that you also do, continue at the bottom of the page.
4. Copy the Key file (*.key ) and the downloaded certificate (*.cer) into a mobile phone’s folder.

5. Start Mobile Signer on your mobile phone.

6. Select the path for the unsigned *.sis File.
7. Select the KeyFile’s path.
8. And finally select the certificate file’s path.
9. If you want to, you can add a password.

12. To save the paths of the files, choose “Save Config”.

11. To complete the signing procces, choose “Option” and then “Sign”.

Operation Success!

Now you should find the signed application in the same folder as your unsigned file. I hope it works!
Problems:
For some people only a certifcat with no password is working. Unfortunately, you can not use the twenty-years certificat in this case. You must create the certificat with DevCertRequest.
This is how you can do it:
1. Download this key file.
2. Follow the steps 6 to 25 to create a Symbian Signed account at my classic signing tutorial.
3. Download DevCertRequest.
4. Start DevCertRequest.

5. Enter your desired name of the *.csr file and click on “Next”.

6. “ACS Pub ID available: No”, “No Password” and click on the three points.

7. Open the “1SSmykey.key” file and click on “Next”.

8. Mark all entries on the left side and click on “Add”, then choose the three points at “IMEI(s):”.

9. Type in your IMEI, choose “Add” and click on “OK”. Continue by clicking “Next”.

10. “Finish” the procces.
11. Login at Symbian Signed, open https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/barclayhtml/devcert/requestupload.jsp in the web browser to upload the just created *.csr file by doing the steps 31 to 35 in my classic signing tutorial. Then go on with step 4 at the top of the page.
I hope it works now!

Sometimes it loads up but no picture of security codes.

February 1, 2008 at 12:09 am |
wow that was fast, i followed all theinstructions and FINALLY (phew) got rotate me installed. thanks bery95 . is nokmate or similar program out yet?? and games to utilise the feature?
February 1, 2008 at 5:53 am |
Nokmote controls your phone with movements, rotateMe auto rotates the screen.
February 1, 2008 at 8:24 pm |
yes i understand the differemce between the 2, i cant find nokmate anywhere to download so was asking if a program that does the same thing is out there to download.
and also why does rotate me only work when moving to the left and back to the upright position??
February 2, 2008 at 7:52 am |
Because that’s the normal N95 rotation mode. For rotating to the right, further programming is necessary.
You can get a beta version of Nokmote by donating on Samir’s site for the application.

Hi,
I followed your instructions given here to sign the rotate_me for my N80, but i got the error
Unable to install a protected application
application from an untrusted supplierl
Do you know the solution for that. The symbian site has halted the process for creating certificates for people without the ACS Pub ID .. so i couldn’t try the other step you gave.
Plzzzzz help

Hi,sorry to bother you, but i couldn’t exactly find the solution. If you are refering to the
” Problems:
For some people only a certifcat with no password is working. Unfortunately, you can not use the twenty-years certificat in this case. You must create the certificat with DevCertRequest. …. ”
part
then in step number 11
11. Login at Symbian Signed, open https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/barclayhtml/devcert/requestupload.jsp in the web browser to upload the …..
i get the following message on the symbian site
Request DevCert
Your request has failed. Reason:
- Developer Certificates will be ENABLED for users who have a Publisher ID ONLY. (during GMT office hours)
- ONLY if you used a Publisher ID to create a .csr file with the DevCertCreate tool will you be able to use Open Signed Offline to create a Developer Certificate.
- Developer Certificates are currently DISABLED for users without a Publisher ID. Users who DO NOT have a Publisher ID CANNOT request Developer Certificates or use Open Signed Offline.
- Open Signed Online and Offline for users without a Publisher ID will NOT be available temporarily, an update will be provided during Week beginning 25th Feb
- If you have recently obtained a Publisher ID and are unable to create a Developer Certificate using Open Signed Offline please request support through the Symbian Signed forum on the Symbian Developer Network
I’m pretty new to all this, so please be a little more detailed. or atleast give the reference to which step(s) you were pointing. Thanks inadvance.
February 28, 2008 at 9:45 pm |
You are right. SS is offline for ordinary users at the moment. It is not possible to create a certificate at the moment. I am sorry!

March 9, 2008 at 6:20 pm |
The package containing the *.cer file is corrupted or won’t unzip for some reason.
The *.cer file is the bit everyone needs… Pleas email me the files separately so I can install rotate me on my phone…???
And change the zip package…. It is pretty sucky that you can’t unzip the necessary files.
Cheers
for any help

Creation of Developer Certificates for people without a publisher ID is offline. If you don’t have a certificate, you cannot sign applications like this.
April 4, 2008 at 4:51 am |
Hello, I’m trying sign with tis program, i have a question:
At the step 3:
4. Copy the Key file (*.key ) and the downloaded certificate (*.cer) into a mobile phone’s folder.
Which files are them? We use 20 years certificate and key files from OPDA (included in the packet) or the others cert and key files no OPDA on folder signsis103 ?
Please asnwer me.
Thanks a lot.
