Signing directly on the Phone

The useful freeware SignSIS which is very popular for the PC has been released for S60 devices. You can directly> sign applications on your phone.

This is how it works:

1. Download the whole packet including everything you need, password: symbianwebblog

2. Install Mobile Signer on your mobile phone.

3. There is a certificate and key file from OPDA (included in the packet) which will not expire until 20 years. For mobile signing no Symbian Signed account is necessary. But some people have got problems with this certificat. In case that you also do, continue at the bottom of the page.

4. Copy the Key file (*.key ) and the downloaded certificate (*.cer) into a mobile phone’s folder.

5. Start Mobile Signer on your mobile phone.

screenshot0100.jpg

6. Select the path for the unsigned *.sis File.

7. Select the KeyFile’s path.

8. And finally select the certificate file’s path.

9. If you want to, you can add a password.

12. To save the paths of the files, choose “Save Config”.

screenshot00140.jpg

11. To complete the signing procces, choose “Option” and then “Sign”.

Operation Success!

Now you should find the signed application in the same folder as your unsigned file. I hope it works!

Problems:

For some people only a certifcat with no password is working. Unfortunately, you can not use the twenty-years certificat in this case. You must create the certificat with DevCertRequest.

This is how you can do it:

1. Download this key file.

2. Follow the steps 6 to 25 to create a Symbian Signed account at my classic signing tutorial.

3. Download DevCertRequest.

4. Start DevCertRequest.

5. Enter your desired name of the *.csr file and click on “Next”.

t.jpg

6. “ACS Pub ID available: No”, “No Password” and click on the three points.

7. Open the “1SSmykey.key” file and click on “Next”.

8. Mark all entries on the left side and click on “Add”, then choose the three points at “IMEI(s):”.

9. Type in your IMEI, choose “Add” and click on “OK”. Continue by clicking “Next”.

10. “Finish” the procces.

11. Login at Symbian Signed, open https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/barclayhtml/devcert/requestupload.jsp in the web browser to upload the just created *.csr file by doing the steps 31 to 35 in my classic signing tutorial. Then go on with step 4 at the top of the page.

I hope it works now!

  19. grazza Says:

wow that was fast, i followed all theinstructions and FINALLY (phew) got rotate me installed. thanks bery95 . is nokmate or similar program out yet?? and games to utilise the feature?

  20. bery95 Says:

Nokmote controls your phone with movements, rotateMe auto rotates the screen.

  21. graham Says:

yes i understand the differemce between the 2, i cant find nokmate anywhere to download so was asking if a program that does the same thing is out there to download.
and also why does rotate me only work when moving to the left and back to the upright position??

  22. bery95 Says:

Because that’s the normal N95 rotation mode. For rotating to the right, further programming is necessary.

You can get a beta version of Nokmote by donating on Samir’s site for the application.

    At the step 3:

    4. Copy the Key file (*.key ) and the downloaded certificate (*.cer) into a mobile phone’s folder.

    Please asnwer me.
    Thanks a lot.
