rotateMe v2.0 Final and rotateMe v2.1 Beta 1 released

Samir seems to have worked hard on “rotateMe”, the great application which auto rotates the screen when you turn your phone by using the accelerometer of phones like the N95.

“rotateMe v2.0 Final” is now available for public. Everyone can download it on Samir’s website. Because “rotateMe v2.0 Beta 7″ seems to have worked well, Samir didn’t change anything on the final version.

It has the great features like setting the “Sensitivity”…

… or “Reactivity”. Have a look at my “rotateMe v2.0 Beta 7″ article to view the whole feature list.

More important seems to be the release of “rotateMe v2.1 Beta 1″ which adds a “Landscape 180°” rotatation mode to your N95 and N95 8GB.
It has basically the same functions as the normal 2.0 version, but additionally two great new features.

The first is called “Slide Behavior”. By default, the N95 rotates the screen to landscape mode when you open the multimedia keyboard and rerotates to portrait mode when you open the normal keyboard again.
Set the setting to “Slide disabled” and the screen will only be rotated by “rotateMe” and not by the N95’s firmware.

The second setting enables the new feature I have already mentioned: The “Landscape 180″ mode.

This feature is still in alpha mode:

  • • It doesn’t work on old N95 firmwares (will crash). Nokia added this additional screen mode in the newest firmware
  • • N82 support is still unknown
  • • The keypad buttons aren’t rotated

Anyway, it worked very nice on my N95:

I will remove “LandscapePro 2.0″ now which already had this feature, because “rotateMe” is simply the best solution with its great functionality and settings.

One small remark you may pass to Samir as advance user ref. 2.1 Beta1

Let Rotateme as usual run in the background. Set Slide behaviour to “Disabled”. Let the slider be closed. Open then the “multi media menu” (”MMM”) by pressing on the corresponding button. Turn now the screen to left or right no matter and the multi media menu will disappear instead of turning with your movement (as done when no rotateme is running and you simply open the slider to the right to get to the music buttons)

Open then the slider. Press once again the MMM. Turn the slider to left or right. MMM will close once again.

Just get it signed for everone if you want it to be a popular app ???

  11. bery95 Says:

It IS very popular and he cannot get it signed for everyone unless he doesn’t buy a Publisher ID which is VERY expensive. Anyway, I heard he bought one, so you can hope for a signed rotateMe version soon.
