Another little, but useful Python accelerometer application: “ShakeLock” changes the state of key locking by detecting your movements.
When you shake the phone up/down, the keys will be locked, when you shake your phone to the right/left, the keys will be unlocked again.
As you can see, the application doesn’t do much, but it turned out to be quite useful in everyday-life, especially for candybar phones without a slider to quickly lock/unlock the keyboard.

The UI is very simple.

The only things you can do is to “Set Lock Sensivity” and…

… and “Set Unlock Sensivity”.
“ShakeLock” is still in beta state. Although it works pretty reliably, you must consider a few things:
-
• The application is signed with an expired certificate. To install it, you must set your phone date one year back to 2007.
-
• After launching application, you must press the menu keys twice to activate shaking function. Otherwise “ShakeLock” won’t work
Have a look at the video to have an idea of this useful little application:
“ShakeLock” must still be improved, especially the UI, but anyway it’s another nice accelerometer using application.
You can download “ShakeLock v1.04 Beta” here. Make sure to have Python installed.
