My mate Sittiphol, the developer of the great YouTube client “MobiTubia” has created a simple, but useful application. I have already received it yesterday, but didn’t have the time to write about it:
With the latest N95 firmware, the menus have been totally new arranged. The division into subfolders was a useful step, but incomprehensibly also the “Themes” icon in the settings menu has been removed. Sadly for all the people who liked to change their themes often to have a varying phone look and used this icon to access the themes menu.
Sittiphol has realized this problem and has a solution for people who hated always having to cross various menus until they reached themes.
His application “Themes Launcher” is just a simple icon which leads directly to the “Themes” menu like we knew it from previous firmwares and older devices.
Themes Launcher:

After installing the application, the “Themes” icon is stored into the “Applications” folder.

Selecting it, you are automatically directed to the “Themes” settings, where you can quickly choose a different theme in the “General” menu.

For people who want to change their themes very often, it is advisable to set “Themes” as one of the active standby shortcuts.

Then the icon can be selected quickly in the standby mode.

Or you can move the application into the main menu by choosing “Options” -> “Move to folder” and then your desired location.
That’s all the application can do. Not much, but useful! You can download Sittiphol’s newest work on his “project page”.

This is a great idea from Sittiphol. I too was disappointed after upgrading to v20 FW on my N95 to see that the themes icon was gone. However, I have used another workaround ever since: JBak Taskman (the task manager I use, the best out there imho) can also serve as an app launcher (very convenient, includes numbered shortcuts for quick access). And “Themes” is available to add directly to this launcher. This is also possible in Handy Taskman (albeit starting an app from this program requires more keypresses than from JBak’s).
Nevertheless, a good feature for those stuck with the standard task manager.
