Actually I should rename this section to “Application of the Month”, because I haven’t written anything here since a longer time. There were many other interesting things, maybe more important ones, to write about and I also didn’t find many applications which are worth to be mentioned here.
However, I have finally found another great and indeed really useful application called “KeyLock”.
“KeyLock” is similar to Sittiphol’s “Theme Launcher” only an icon which executes a function after launching it. As its name says, “KeyLock” will lock the keys immediately after launching it what turns out to be very useful in practice and makes “KeyLock” to one of the most useful applications I have ever used.
Read on before you think it’s not useful, it is indeed.
KeyLock:

After installing the application, “KeyLock’s” icon is stored into the “Applications” folder as usual. Launching it will immediately lock the keyboard.

It’s clear that the application is not really useful using it like this: nobody wants to lock the keyboard in the “Applications” folder.
I think most of us lock their keyboard being in standby mode and that’s the moment “KeyLock” becomes very useful.
You can set the application into the active standby bar by choosing “Tools” -> “Settings” -> “General” -> “Personalisation” -> “Standby mode” -> “Active standby apps”.

Being in standby screen, you can now lock the keypad easily by selecting the “KeyLock” icon in the bar. Right away after selecting it, the confirmation message will be shown and the keyboard is locked with just one little key press!

This is already quite useful, but the perfect solution to use “KeyLock” is to set it as a “Shortcut” using the softkeys in the standby mode.
I am using the right key, because then the command or application which will be launched right away. Using the left key, the phone waits a little time for a possible further key input for using manually key locking.
You can set the shortcuts by choosing “Tools” -> “Settings” -> “General” -> “Personalisation” -> “Standby mode” -> “Shortcuts”.

Now you can lock the keyboard with just one press on the right softkey! This works perfectly and is really useful.

And it gets even better: There is another version of “KeyLock” which doesn’t show a confirmation message. After selecting the shortcut, the keyboard will be locked as you can see in the right screenshot.
Maybe it’s only my opinion, but I really like this simple application. Locking the keyboard with just one key press facilitates this daily action a lot.

Both versions are fully compatible with the Open Signed Online signing system. Have a look at my tutorial to see how signing works.
