I am really a little bit jealous on Teo’s great relationships…
He has another hot an exclusive news referring to the first S60 Touch device called “Tube” as I reported yesterday. Actually it’s not only news, he seems to know everything about the touch handset which should be available in the first quarter of 2009, but to respect Nokia, he is still hesitating to post all the things he knows.
Anyway, “Tube” which is just a code name will be the very first phone of Nokia’s 5th generation S60 and won’t be part of Nokia’s Nseries line. On the one hand, it’s the phone we have all been waiting, as it is Nokia’s very first touch device. On the other hand, it won’t be a flagship what means that it can’t compete with current Nseries highlights regarding the features.
It will have a great high resolution display in 16:9 format which we all missed on current Nseries phones between 3,0″ and 3,5″. Symbian-Freak published the information this way to not tell us the real information, so I guess it will be a 3,2″ display.

It also has a camera with auto focus which will not be as good as current Nseries phones have one. Should be a 3,2 MP camera.
“Tube” supports all the connectivity options wee can imagine with Bluetooth, uPnP, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA and WLAN. Furthermore it has built in GPS to continue their way to release as many phones as possible with navigation capabilities. Also geotagging will be onboard.
All these features will be packed in a compactly built device similar to the size of the N73, could be a little bit wider.
All the people who like comparing “Tube” with the iPhone: it doesn’t support the great multitouch function, but has the great tactical feedback feature which confirms user inputs.
As you can see in the pictures, the phone has a stylus. I have already heard some people complaining, but the stylus will only be an addition and the large icons are the perfect condition to control the phone also with your finger.
I really like the phone, but I also don’t want to miss the features of my N95. Seems like I have to wait for the phone which units the touch control which I really like and great multimedia features.
