The great Flash application “RealVista Desktop” by … caused large attention, because it brought the amazing Vista optics to all Flash enabled S60 devices without changing or damaging any system file.
Many people installed “RealVista Desktop” on their phones due to the amazing look the application offers, however users of the latest Nseries flagships N95, N95 8GB and N82 discovered problems when launching applications out of the flash application.
This is caused by the latest firmwares which brought Flash Lite 3.0 support for the web browser and added also the Flash Lite 3.0 standalone player. Actually great, because the browser supports every Flash content now.
But the crappy Flash Lite 3.0 security options don’t permit a launch of applications out of a Flash file. That’s a huge step back and takes a lot of potential from Flash applications like “RealVista Desktop”.
However, I have found a solution how to get “RealVista Desktop” working without any issues also on FL 3.0 enabled devices. The solution is that files stored in a folder called “trusted” will get full permissions, also launching applications.
Just follow the next simple steps to use “RVD” with your Flash Lite 3.0 enabled S60 phone:

1. Install “RealVista Desktop” on your N82, N95 or N95 8GB as usual using the Nokia PC Suite. If you don’t have the application yet, have a look at my previous post.

2. After having successfully installed “RVD”, open the “File manager” which is stored in the “Tools” menu.

3. Change to the memory card and open the “Other” folder.

4. Create in the same path a “New folder” and call it “trusted”.

5. Highlight the “RVD-Evolution” folder and move it into the “Trusted” folder by selecting “Move to folder”.

That’s it! You can now launch “RVD” as usually through the “Flash Player” which is stored in “Applications” -> “Media”. Change to the memory card, open the “Trusted” folder…

…, open the “RVD-Evolution” fodler and launch the flash file.

Because we changed the paths of the files, the application will give you some error messages and won’t be able to find the “theme.txt” and “apps.txt” file. Just select “OK”…

… and you will have a fully working “RealVista Desktop” which can launch every application you like through the flash file.
Only customized themes and the application launcher won’t work, because the flash file cannot find the two “*.txt” files. However, I think most of you will be satisified without these special two functions and can now enjoy the amazing Vista UI on their N82, N95 and N95 8GB.
Adobe and Nokia are already working on a solution which will give fix the security problems soon.
