MobiTubia v1.80 Build 4 released for Donators, will be relased for Public today

I just wanted to briefly inform you that the recently released version 1.80 Build 2 of the great and at the moment only working YouTube client will not be the one which will be released to public.

Sittihpol has just published “MobiTubia v1.80 Build 4″ which will also be the version he will release for public today.
This is also the point of time when I am sad to tell you that again some of the donators shared “MobiTubia v1.80 Build 4″ what made Sittihpol really angry. That’s why he decided to support only donators from now on and they will be the only one getting new versions.

MobiTubia v1.80 Build 2 released for Donators

There is finally a new version for the great YouTube client “MobiTubia” developed by my friend Sittiphol Phanvilai. He has just released v1.80 Build 2 in the donator forum of the official “MobiTubia” page.

3rd party applications which can access YouTube content like “MobiTubia” and “emTube” are still the first choice for nearly all Symbian users, because viewing through the Flash Lite 3 supporting browser which the N82, N95 and N95 8GB is still very uncomfortable without a full screen mode and a very slowly working browser.

NeoReboot – Reboot Application by Sittiphol Phanvilai

Please don’t think what happened to Sittiphol’s great programming skill and creative ideas about new applications. Maybe you would have expected more than this simple application after the two ”must-have applications” “MobiTubia” and “Themes Launcher”  - “NeoReboot” is a little application he just developed for fun as test object to try out the new Open Signed system.

He didn’t plan to release it, but because it is quite useful and maybe one of the only current working reboot applications as it is fully compatible with Open Signed, I decided to write a post about it anyway.

MobiTubia v1.76 Build 4 fixes major Bug

Maybe some of you have discovered, that one of the best YouTube clients, “MobiTubia” didn’t work anymore: videos and thumbnails were simply not loaded.

The developer received many emails about the dysfunction and reacted fast: He discovered that YouTube changed something in their system which made “MobiTubia” work faulty and then adapted the application to work again.

Noob Section: Mobile Browsing including YouTube Experience

With this new article of my “Noob Section” I want to show you how to enjoy mobile browsing without abandoning YouTube videos. This post is thought for most S60v3 devices apart from the N95 8GB which does already support Flash videos.

All other devices have a browser which is not compatible with Flash Lite 3 content. However, you can use the great YouTube client “MobiTubia” having a great feature called “Open Web Clip”. You can enter the address of any YouTube clip containing web page. “MobiTubia” shows you automatically all the clips which are embedded on this site and you can play them with the external YouTube client.

Story of Sittiphol Phanvalai, the MobiTubia Developer

I am huge fan of the work of my friend Sittiphol Phanvalai. He’s the high talented developer of the Youtube client “MobiTubia” which has won Nokia’s Open C Challenge competition and also of other projects like the recently released “Themes Launcher”.

Forum Nokia asked him to write something about his story and I find  it quite interesting. So I decided to post it here to let people who are also interested in how an “ordinary” developer from Thailand made it to win this high contaminated developmental competition.

MobiTubia v1.76 Build 3 released for Public

You all know about the great YouTube client MobiTubia which provides access to all the videos of the world’s largest video portal.
Several versions have been released since the last public version and now Sittiphol provides “MobiTubia v1.76 Build 3″ also to public.

Build 2 that was released in the donators forum an worked already great for me, but did have some bugs. These are fixed in the new public version and Build 3 results in a great and stable working application.

MobiTubia v1.75 Build 3 released for Public

Sittiphol has just made the newest version of his great YouTube client “MobiTubia” available for public.

“MobiTubia” is still in early development and has still plenty of bugs. However, one can see the hard work Sittiphol is working at them to create a stable working application.
With version v1.75 Build 3, Sittiphol removed major bugs from previous version: Problems like a flickering screen or a non detected memory card shouldn’t occur anymore.

MobiTubia v1.75 Build 2 released for Donators

“MobiTubia” has come as a real bombshell in the Symbian world. The YouTube client with one of the nicest UI ever seen in an application, has been download over 6000 times in only two days.

However, there were lots of complaints apart from the praise Sittiphol won for his programm works.

That’s why Sittiphol took some time to fix some major bugs, although he has to study for his Thesis. Donators can download the new version 1.75 Build 2 in the “Private Forum”.

MobiTubia released for Public!

I am proud to announce Sittiphol’s great YouTube client available for everybody: “MobiTubia” has finally been made available for public.

Sittiphol worked really hard on his client winning Nokia Open C Contest and improved it massivly.

There is nearly no video lagging anymore and I worked hard with him to remove most of the bugs. The result is a smoothly working YouTube client with the best UI ever seen in an application.

We’ll see, whether mobile users will venture the step to leave the also great working application “emTube” behind. I am using “MobiTubia” everyday instead of “emTube” because I simply love the great UI.
