We have already seen similar projects like the popular “ShakerRacer”, but for me it’s again and again interesting to see what can be done with the N95’s accelerometer.
I found a new video that shows how the Nokia N95 replaces a remote control and is able to control a vehicle by using intuitive motion control.

The great Flash application “RealVista Desktop” by … caused large attention, because it brought the amazing Vista optics to all Flash enabled S60 devices without changing or damaging any system file.
Many people installed “RealVista Desktop” on their phones due to the amazing look the application offers, however users of the latest Nseries flagships N95, N95 8GB and N82 discovered problems when launching applications out of the flash application.

I have just found another very cool multiplayer game which makes use of the accelerometer of the N95 and N95 8GB and N82.
Inspired by the popular “LightSaber”, Phone Fight is a prototype sword-fighting game for two players equipped with Nokia N95 or compatible phones. It makes use of the accelerometer within the phones to detect simulated sword slashes and blocks, and Bluetooth to communicate those moves between the phones and to notify the winning player of victory.

The developer himself just kindly informed me about another interesting accelerometer application with a totally new concept.
Developed by Luis Figueiredo, the application is the very first piece of software which uses the built in acceleromter of phones like the N95 or N95 8GB to paint with motion input.

I just came across another interesting video about an accelerometer project of a kind we haven’t seen it yet.
“Interactive ScreenSaver” is the very first screensaver of its kind, as it support for the accelerometer of phones like the N82, N95 or N95 8GB. A little symbol (I still can’t recognize what it shows?) is moving according to the position you hold your phone, similar to the “Moving Ball” example application.
Apart from that, it shows the normal information like date, day and time.

It’s really impressive to see the range of colors the N95 is available in: I can’t remember a phone which you can buy in nearly every color you desire
With “White”, “Red” and “Blue”, Nokia nearly adds three new colors to the existing amount of back covers.
The three new version will be available in Japan at the Japanese provider “SoftBank”.

Finally Nokia released a black back cover for the N95-1.
At the time the N95 was started to be sold, there were only “Deep Plum” and “Sand” back covers. After a couple of weeks Nokia released a grey N95 (Warm Graphite) and from time to time “Brown”, “Red” and “Pink” covers appeared on the market.
